Workforce Profile

Overview

The Workforce Profile dashboard provides detailed data and insights about workforce demographics by region, including those who are employed, actively looking for work, or living outside the workforce (e.g., retired, incarcerated). It creates a picture of the talent market in each region within the broader economic landscape.

Data in this dashboard comes from the U.S. Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

What the Data Reveals

This dashboard highlights workforce diversity and inequities by demographic group, surfacing where gaps exist in participation, wages, and employment opportunities. Insights support conversations across stakeholders about the causes and impacts of these disparities, and guide targeted initiatives to drive positive change and economic growth.

It helps leaders:

  1. Assess the regional workforce’s capacity by education, skills, and income.
  2. Compare categories of work status, including incarcerated populations, to peer regions and identify opportunities to strengthen socioeconomic outcomes.
  3. Evaluate how overcoming gaps in educational attainment, unemployment, wages, and home ownership can impact long-term growth.
